Dr. Getulio Leonel de Rezende M.D., Partner-Director, graduated at Faculdade Nacional de Medicina, Universidade do Brasil, Rio de Janeiro, in 1962. He served his medical residence, from 1964 to 1966, at Waterbury Hospital, affiliated to Yale University, Connecticut, USA. Returning to Brazil he started working at Merck in July 1967 and spent the following year at the Company’s Headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. In 1985, after having went through almost all company’s pharmaceutical areas, he became a member of Merck’s Latin American Regional Management. He retired in June 2001 after being encharging during his last ten years in the Company as Director for pharmaceutical business in the whole region plus South Africa. 

Dr. Ronaldo Martins M.D., Partner-Director, graduated at Escola Federal de Medicina e Cirurgia, Rio de Janeiro, in 1972. In June 1974 he also started working at the Brazilian Merck as Clinical Research Manager and afterwards as Business Unit Manager. He took during 1978 a post-graduate course in Clinical Pharmacology at the University of California, Los Angeles, USA. In 1991 he joined Merck’s Latin American Regional Management as Marketing Manager.  He obtained a MBA degree in Marketing from the Institute of Administration and Management, Catholic University (PUC) of Rio de Janeiro, in 1992. Dr. Martins left the Company in March 2002 to set up Pharma Partner together with Dr. de Rezende, in April that same year.
